This is not a subject I particularly like discussing, however the reality still remains that if you aren’t cloaking your links you are opening the doors to hackers to go in and steal money from you. That’s right, this applies to everyone who actively promotes products and/or services. Some of the stories I have come across regarding this subject have been staggering.

So what is cloaking exactly? It sounds somewhat obvious because your are replacing the original URL with some that is far more attractive then the URL you were given from your affiliate. Services like TinyURL.com also takes the longer URL’s and makes them much shorter and it is close to impossible for a hacker to get to the original code.

You don’t have to go with TinyUrl it is just an example and you can do a search for link cloaking and they all deliver them a little bit differently. Your URL still remains

the same and it is simply covering it up so others can’t get to you and it gives a much more professional appearance. But the most important thing is that it hides all of your information that would lead a hacker to your account and hijack your hard earned income.

So how is all this accomplished exactly? Well it comes form a term called Advanced Domain Forwarding. Today there are as many out there as you can probably count. If your serious about marketing this is a step you do not want to forget when you are setting up your website or blog.
